The Vineyards

The Avanzis own more than 50 hectares of vineyards and olive-groves, located in the area of Lake Garda between the " Valtenèsi" and the "Lugana of Sirmione". This way the family is able to follow with the utmost care the ripening of the grapes and vintage timing in order to produce excellent wines.

Vigna Bragagna
Vigna Bragagna is located in Lugana, a small rural town in Sirmione. Here the soil is mostly clayey and silty. Vines are north-south oriented, sun exposition is total and rows are covered by hail protection nets.
Vigna Bragagna estate includes a farm, too. The whole property covers an area of Ha 25.25.00. Grape vines variety: Turbiana (Trebbiano di Lugana), Pinot Bianco, Chardonnay and Cabernet to obtain Lugana doc di Sirmione, Lugana doc Borghetta, Bragagna Cabernet Garda doc.

Vigna Predelli
Vigna Predelli is located on the rightern side of the road connecting Polpenazze del Garda to Calvagese della Riviera, at the foot of the hill overlooking the Natural Park of Lake Lucone formed by the penultimate and most powerful glaciation. Here, the soil is thin and mineral with hight percentages of sand and silt, which is the best for producing Groppello and Chiaretto Garda Classico.
Rows are east-west and north-east facing. This way, vines have an eastern sun exposure. In total, this property covers an area of Ha 14.13.00.

Grape vines variety: Groppello, Barbera, San Giovese, Marzemino, Rebo in order to obtain excellent wines such as Chiaretto Garda Classico doc, Groppello Garda Classico, Rosso Valténesi doc.

Vigna Montecorno
Vigna Montecorno is located on the hill overlooking Desenzano del Garda. Here, the soil is composed of clay, covered by a sandy and silty layer. This kind of soil, silt in particular, helps Rebo grapevines to achieve high quality levels, to the detriment of the very low yield (only 6 ton/ha). Rows are south/west facing, so that sun exposure is total. The Montecorno property covers a total area of ha 12.65.20, parted as follows: ha 08.14.00 of vineyards; ha 03.50.00 of Certified Olive grove, with a nice and lake-facing Agritourism annexed; ha 01.01.20 of green forest.

Grape-vines variety: Groppello for Garda Classico wines; Rebo Igt benaco Bresciano, which gives us the outstanding Montecorno Rebo, a very long-lasting aged red wine.

                                                       Vigna La Valle
La Valle, better known as Villa Avanzi (click here) is located on the rightern side of the road connecting Polpenazze del Garda to Soiano del Lago, on the eastern slope on a third-glaciation Moraine. Here, the soil is mostly calcareous, perfect for Garda Classico grapevines. Vines are north-south oriented, so that they have an eastern sun exposure, and rows are covered by hail protection nets. This property covers a total area of ha 06.03.00, between vineyards and olive-grove, which frame the XIV Century Villa annexed.

Grape-vines variety: Groppello, Barbera, San Giovese, Marzemino to obtain wines such as Groppello Garda Classico doc, Chiaretto Garda Classico doc, Rosso Valténesi doc.
